Living in the Lion's Den
Beginning Sept 10th at 9:15am
Led by Pastor Schlicht
A Bible Study on the Book of Daniel. Pastor Schlicht begins a new study on the book of Daniel in between our Sunday services in the Fellowship Hall. The Book of Daniel tells the story of four friends who demonstrated their faith in a pluralistic society which had become increasingly opposed to the true God. Sound familiar? Strong currents of pluralism and secularism in our current society push expressions of faith as far to the margins of public life as possible. The story of Daniel calls us.

Wednesday Morning Bible Study
Wednesdays at 9am
Led by Pastor Janke in The Fellowship Hall
Wednesday morning Bible study will resume August 30th at 9am. That's when we'll begin a study of the Old Testament book of Zechariah. The author of the recent commentary on Zechariah says that the book "is virtually unknown in the church today," with the exception of the Palm Sunday prophecy in chapter 9, "See, your king comes to you...lowly and riding on a donkey." Yet, of the twelve "Minor Prophets" (Hosea to Malachi in the Old Testament), Zechariah is quoted in the New Testament more than any other. After the book of Ezekiel, Zechariah is alluded to in the book of Revelation more than any other book in the Old Testament. Additionally, with its prophecies of the Messiah, Zechariah provides a template for the Passion history of our Lord Jesus. For these reasons and more, it's our aim to see to it that the book of Zechariah is not "virtually unknown" at Good Shepherd. We invite you to come and explore this challenging and enlightening book with us on Wednesday mornings starting August 30th. Led by Pastor Paul Janke.
